KIHoQu project
Artificial Intelligence in high-temperature processes for process data fusion and real-time evaluation of product quality
Funding: Ministry of Economy, Labor and Tourism Baden-Württemberg
Duration: 2023 bis 2025
Project consortium: ci-tec GmbH, OPTERRA Wössingen, Befesa Zinc Freiberg
The KIHoQu project uses artificial intelligence to make data from process plants utilizable for optimizing industrial high-temperature processes. The aim is to increase energy efficiency and reduce CO₂ emissions, which benefits climate protection. The sensors installed in the plants already record the processes comprehensively. This data is then merged as part of the project and used for modeling to estimate the product quality in real time. In this way, the product quality is determined continuously and in real time. This estimation supplements the laboratory results, which are only available intermittently and with a delay and offers a rapid feedback option.
For practical transfer, it is crucial to use the available data efficiently and to apply the developed methods to different plants and processes. Therefore, the project investigates two examples: Cement production and zinc recycling. The KIHoQu project is funded as part of the InvestBW program.
